About the Project
IDO’s ongoing Women Empowerment Project aims to improve the living standards of grassroots women fishers, protect their rights, promote a violence-free environment, and support them in developing peaceful, dignified, and sustainable livelihoods.

- Limited access to markets, networks, and financial opportunities
- Lack of leadership, organization, unity, and solidarity
- Limited access to capital and alternative economic opportunities
- Insecure living and working conditions

Our Goal
The overall goal is to ensure women’s rights and strengthen leadership capacity among marginalized women in fishing communities at the grassroots level in Paikgacha and Koyra Upazilas of Khulna District.
Building a Better Future Together
When women have access to skills, resources, fair economic opportunities, networks, leadership, and collective strength, they can increase their income, become more self-reliant, and stand stronger for their rights. This can contribute to improved socio-economic conditions and a more peaceful and harmonious community.
Empowered Women. Stronger Communities. Sustainable Futures.
IDO is working alongside marginalized women fishers to build dignity, equality, economic resilience, leadership, and sustainable livelihoods—helping create a future where women can live and work with greater security and opportunity.
