Many of these children are unable to access the treatment, care, and support they need because their families are living in severe poverty. Several households depend on irregular daily labour and have very limited income to support large families.
The documented cases come from communities in Keshabpur, Jessore, and Patkelghata, Satkhira, reflecting the challenges faced by vulnerable children and their families in IDO’s project areas. The case studies include children with mobility limitations, intellectual disabilities, visual disabilities, and hearing and speech disabilities.
These stories remind us that disability inclusion is closely connected with poverty reduction, access to healthcare, rehabilitation, education, family support, and the protection of human rights.
